What is it?

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy is an effective treatment in improving appearance of unwanted age spots and sun damage. The therapy targets areas deep within your skin with specific wavelength of light to restore and rejuvenation your skin. IPL triggers your body's natural collagen production to improve the appearance of conditions like brown spots, redness and rosacea. When administered by a trained professional, IPL can have notable, lasting impact on the texture and tone of your skin.

What to expect

Depending on the area we are treating, IPL sessions at Buckeye Dermatology typically take between 30 to 60 minutes. During your session, you may feel a mild warming of the skin and slight discomfort. Right after IPL, your skin may be red with some swelling. As your skin sheds the old skin, dark spots may initiatlly appear darker before they flake off, typically within a week. In their place, you'll enjoy renewed, collagen-rich skin.
